Wild about is an innovative award winning artisan producer making a range of seasonal chutneys, relishes, preserves, dressings, oils, syrups and raw foods from the wealth seasonal & wild ingredients grown on our permaculture farm, or sourced locally here in Co. Wexford.


We are an ethical and sustainable business with a strong ecological message. ALL our products are made from scratch on site here on the farm.  We don't use any pre-packed pre-prepared ingredients, or industrial cooking kettles.  We peel, core, chop and prepare all our ingredients by hand, make in small batches, in open top 25 litre pots.  We work with the seasonal harvests, preserving for a season, thus our chutneys and preserves are very low in sugar and salt, showcasing the ingreidents natural flavours.

 

ARTISAN

The terms 'Artisan' should only be used on foods or in advertising of foods that can legitimately claim to meet ALL of the following criteria :

1.  The food is made in limited qualtities by skilled craftspeople.

2.  The processing method is not fully mechanised and follows a traditional method.

3.  The food is made in a micro-enterprise at a single location.

4. The characteristic ingredients used in the food are grown or produced locally and seasonally where available.

PERMACULTURE

Permaculture is akin to organics in that we don't use any chemicals, sprays or herbicides on our land. However, permaculture is much more.  Permaculture is about the development of sustainable agricultural productive systems which have diversity, stability and the resilience of natural ecosystems to provide safe, clean, sustainable food and shelter, to build communities, develop local economies, celebrate heritage and safeguard  tradition.
